I started my career in 2004 as an office manager for an insurance agent. After spending a year and a half in the industry, I decided to get my Health & Accident license in 2006. At that point, I decided to be an Independent Health Insurance Broker representing multiple insurance carriers because I immediately realized that one product was not a one size fits all. Being a broker also allowed me to advocate for my client, not the insurance carrier.
Throughout the 12+ years of being in business, I have seen many changes in the health insurance industry. I have seen people get turned away from being able to obtain insurance because of their existing health and I’ve also seen people who got “tagged” with a health condition that has not affected them in any way, but still got turned away because of their diagnosis and they were considered a “risk.”
There is much debate about the effectiveness of the Affordable Care Act and without getting into a political discussion, I have seen people who have truly been helped with this program. I tell people that it is by far a “perfect” system, but for now it is what we have. I am committed to assisting people with whatever the current program is at the time because bottom line, the need for health insurance is very real. I have seen many close family and friends who have been presented with the tragedy of a loved one who has been affected by different medical conditions. I have spoken to others who although is not enduring a life threatening condition, they have been turned away from medical care without proof of having health insurance.
I could tell you many reasons why someone needs health insurance, but it has to be a personal choice. My goal is to educate you and answer your questions so that you have enough information to make that decision. I am committed to be your health insurance broker all year round. I truly am happy to take your calls, emails or texts to assist you through whatever questions or concerns you may have. If I don’t know the answer to your question, I will tap into one of my many resources to get the information you are in need of. The only dumb question is the one that is not asked.
